NO RENT INCREASE!

In its plan to eliminate housing considered to be thermal sieves, the government has tightened the regulations governing rental accommodation with the aim of banning it completely by 2034.

For housing in DPE (Energy performance diagnostic), diagnostics
F or G (the higghest consumption): since August 24, 2022, it is impossible for landlords to increase rents. Note that ongoing contract are not affected.

In addition, since January 1, 2023, if a lessor presents for rent a home whose consumption amounts to more than 450 kWh/m2/year in final energy (class G+) and therefore considered indecent, the lessor may s expose to sanctions: reduction of rent or damages to be paid to the tenant or to compel him to carry out work.

Last positive news: the government has renewed the maximum increase in rents to 3.5% for 2023.
